Street Sites.

So I was getting some pizza earlier today, in the west village, and saw this old man. He was carrying a rugby bag which is hard to miss. You know the one with the blue and yellow stripes. In the other hand he had a very old Banana Republic bag. It was a large paper bag that said Banana Republic Travel and Safari Clothing company. I have never seen that bag before, but I do remember watching a special on TV about the company and the history of it. They began making clothing for travel and exploration. So there were lots of khakis and cargo pants. If I had never seen that show on TV, I would have seriously been dumbstruck as to why this old Banana Republic bag said travel and safari on it. Just something I thought I'd share with you guys.

Also working in the west village I can see that everything is being set up for the Halloween parade tonight. I'll say, I think everyone should go to that parade at least once. If you get a good spot it can be really fun, and if you know someone who lives on 6th Avenue that's even better. So on that note, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :) Be safe tonight and enjoy your self. I'll be working so I wont get to see my friends, the ones who wouldn't dare of wearing a costume, and the ones who couldn't imagine not wearing one! lolz

So for like a week this summer I was in the Bahamas. I've never been there before and it was pretty nice. I got madd pix, so let me show you.

If you can see it, this was a green cloud. Everyday it would come around, and people would say it was the reflection off of the water, but I never believed that. lolz

This was Nippers on Guana Cay. People come from the other islands with there boats and yachts, and go snorkeling and get drunk and dance. Real chill spot.

I MET THIS REALLY COOL JAPANESE DUDE STR8 OFF THE BOAT, DUDE DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. BUT HE WAS SUCH A COOL GUY. HE WAS OPEN OFF MY NAME AND LET ME LISTENED TO SOME SADE REMIXES THAT I'VE NEVER HEARD, NICE SHIT. I LEARNED SOME JAPANESE LAST NIGHT. LOLZ. MATSU=WAIT. THAT'S ONE I HAD TO SAY ALOT. HEHE. Big-Ups to the Man with the Beard.

I was browsing on Radio Rose's blog today, and came across this photo of Andre J on the cover of French Vogue.

I must admit the man has that je ne sais quoi. I've only met him once, on my way to Lotus one night. He had such a great vibe, all bubbly and fun. I see him all over the west village, dressing so amazingly I can only stare. I just googled him and he was featured in New York Magazine back in March 2007. I really liked the article they did on him. Let me show you.

In response to why he was so happy, Andre said..

"Hard work. No longer living by anyone else’s demands. I’m grown, I’m evolved, I can accept all that comes with being an individual."

I thought that was really smart. We are grown and we are all trying to evolve, to become better individuals, we all have to find that in our own ways.

When asked about his individuality Andre replied,
"In my case [it takes] trust, faith, hope, optimism, courage, wisdom, enthusiasm, and pizzazz."

Sometimes it takes alot to just be yourself. It's nice to see people pushing that to the limit. Whether in there style of dress, there lifestyle or careers.

I also have to say that Andre is the only man I have ever seen rock that down your back hair and a beard. That shit is soo pimp. :)

carpe diem.

After Hours.

So last night was slightly uneventful..but I was ok with that. I did however have my Monday night ritual, which consists of 25 cent wings @ Epstein's on the Lower East. And of course being downtown, I ran into a few heads. Shane in his glory along with some of his friends, Tigga my Nigga, and Isadora whom I haven't seen in a minute. They were in a very heated debate when I arrived, about first, Janet Jackson. What I remember of that is a bit sketchy. They then compare Prince and James Brown. James could dance your top str8 off, and Prince's hair and ass-less leather pants were giving you that slick-back banjee shit. Who's the best? Prince if you ask me. Anyway later on that night I go home chill out for some hours and at around 3am, After Hours comes on HBO. It's a hilarious classic comedy thriller directed by Martin Scorsese. It's from the 80's and takes place in Soho. The movie is so funny, I was laughing all over my bed. If you haven't seen it, check it out. Scorsese is a genius.

The caption reads...

WHAT IF THE DATE YOU THOUGHT WOULD NEVER END, DIDN'T?

also on a side note this really reminds me of a Dali. WHAT YOU THINK?

Alicia makes Complex look Good

It's nice to see Alicia again, I've missed this lady, she can actually sing, and that's pretty refreshing. We were all wondering where she went, and what happened. She's back with a bangin' single, and the album is rumored to be dope. I just hope she's not hurting her voice, on her single I get the feeling that she's straining herself. Am I buggin? She's on the October issue of Complex Magazine. Check out the spread...
