From Me To You.

On that same trip that I mentioned last week to Barnes and Noble I picked this up. So amazing, it breaks down various key areas of marketing your business. From writing the actual marketing plan, to networking, dealing with employees, and insight into trade shows.

If your serious about starting a business and not just talking about it, then this is a must read. The layout is very clear and understandable. Using icons every section, it is laid out in terms of what you must do to complete certain steps. A hammer symbolizes how much work you have to put in to get shit done (there are a lot of those!), a telephone means call that spot and see what's good, a money sign implies how much money it will take to get the job done. Besides this, it also features great resources, from the web to printed materials, i.e. magazines and business publications.

go cop that, and grind your shit out.

BON VOYAGE BITCHES!

There is absolutely no place in the world like Las Vegas. The Bellagio, The Luxor, Caesar's Palace, The MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Riviera. It doesn't matter where you stay, it's fucking crazy. You have to understand what your getting yourself into. This place isn't for the faint of heart. Everything some how manages to go out the window, but at this particular time of the year, Las Vegas plays host to the biggest, most important trade shows in the U.S. MAGIC. PROJECT. POOL. AND RECENTLY UNITED.

Some of you are already on your flight, while others will not leave until tomorrow, or even Tuesday, which is the official start date. If the trip is for business, bang that shit out, fill those orders, get that gwap, and push your product. If the trip is strictly for pleasure and parties, then BALL OUT. Because that's what Vegas is all about. Drinks in the morning, strip club in the afternoon, fitting in a meal at the Bellagio, shopping, and then it's off to the parties to do it all over again.

SEE YOU ON THE STRIP!

Capsule Trade Show.

More and more these days, we can see the fashion industry changing, from the designers to the corporate heads. New types of trades show, and new ways of doing business. Every trade show seems to be getting more creative in the way we think of the average trade show, and the fashion business as a whole, and Capsule is no different.

(capsule) is a new fashion event designed to bring the world's most directional independent menswear designers, super premium street wear and lifestyle brands together under one roof for the very first time. Presenting a highly-edited capsule of collections from around the world, (capsule) reflects the look of the new consumer and presents a fresh approach to the fashion trade show.

(capsule) delivers the perfect dose of progressive style and borrows inspiration from today's mash-up culture. From high to low, bold to subtle, impulsive to thoughtful; the beauty is in the mix. Every (capsule) participant offers a premium level of ideas, overall aesthetic, styling, fit, design and brand messaging. Only the world's most innovative and sought-after brands are invited to participate.

The brands at (capsule) epitomize a new Utopian vision of forward progress. Call it a changing of the guard, this movement is all about global awareness, a mix of cultural references and philosophical choices, and the realization of the American dream.

The really great thing about this show, besides the actual brands, is the prime location. On Jan. 22nd & 23rd, 2008 the show will take place on the Lower East Side, at the Angel Oresanz Foundation.

The neo-gothic structure originally built as a synagogue in 1849 by Berlin based architect Alexander Seltzer. Inspired by the German romantic movement of Heinrich Heine and Beethoven, the building has served as an anchor for the arts in New York City since 1992 when it was converted to an event and performance space. With its balconies, vaulted ceilings, stained glass work, earthy wood, majestic altar and inimitable old world style, the Angel Orensanz center offers a beautiful and incomparable setting for (capsule).
