PERHAPS IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS YOU KNOW IT...

OR PERHAPS IT'S JUST KANYE'S WAY OF SAYING, HEY I'M GOING ON TOUR.

(HE'S BEEN SAYING THE WORLD IS GOING TO COME TO AN END SOON)

THERE'S NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT THIS WILL BE CRAZY, AND YOU KNOW THE CHI-TOWN CONCERT WILL BE STUPID ILL.

NO DATES OR PLACES HAVE BEEN SET AS OF NOW, BUT KEEP ON THE LOOK-OUT FOR THIS.

EVERYONE NOSE - THE NEW N.E.R.D. SONG SO OBVIOUSLY ABOUT YA-YO

On all the recent posts I've seen about this song, no one has yet mentioned the fact that the song is about the sniffles. The track opens by saying "all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom." Classic coke behavior, for the ladies. We all know coke has come back in a wierd way, or maybe it never left, which is what most people say. I'm not sure yet if I like this song, partly because of it's content, and partly because N.E.R.D. so rarely puts out a track these days that I tend to forget about them completely. But you can listen to it here...

FORBES 2007 HIGHEST PAID FEMALE MUSICIANS IN 2007. HOT DAMN!

This is a bit hard to believe, but apparently it's true. Take a look at these results!

Here it goes....
1. Madonna - $72 million
   2. Barbra Streisand - $60 million
   3. Celine Dion - $45 million
4. Shakira - $38 million
5. Beyoncé - $27 million
         6. Gwen Stefani - $26 million
 7. Christina Aguilera - $20 million
  8. Faith Hill - $19 million
9. Dixie Chicks - $18 million
10. Mariah Carey - $13 million
     11. Hilary Duff - $12 million
         12. Avril Lavigne - $12 million
13. Martina McBride - $12 million
  14. Britney Spears - $8 million
15. Carrie Underwood - $7 million
16. Nelly Furtado - $7 million
17. Fergie - $6 million
18. Jennifer Lopez - $6 million
   19. Sheryl Crow - $6 million
    20. Norah Jones - $5.5 million

The one result I'm most shocked by, is Britney Spears. She didn't do shit last year expect look like a coon. I guess if you count the fact that she has a perfume and has royalties coming in from past songs, then it makes sense that she made 8 mill!!! Nah I don't think so.

SHOULD HAVE BEEN COPPED SOME STOCK IN APPLE.

Every time I even begin to turn around, Apple is doing something else. You can hardly keep up with them anymore.

That MACBookAir is CRAZY! Better features than before, of course!, and supa dupa thin.
"The thinnest note-book in the world." One of the dopest features on the new MacBook Air is the multi-touch keypad that allows users to double-tap and move, rotate pictures with a finger, and the iPhone famous “pinch and zoom”. Now the thing is, it's just really thin, I mean that's
not gonna make me go out and get, but I'll definitely admire it from afar.

STATE OF THE UNION.

Last night I was at Esptein's. It's located on the Lower East Side and every Monday night, they have 25 Cent wings. So I find myself there enjoying some wings and beers and fries and laughs. As the meal begins to end and my fingers are very greasy, someone behind the bar puts on the State Of The Union address that Bush is giving. Its live. It takes about 15 minutes for the people inside to take notice. Two girls eating beside me talk loudly about gay marriage, an issue that I think is very important, but at the time I wanted to hear what Bush was saying.

After a while everyone turned around, and everyone started paying attention. And there was something profound about the way it happened. At first everyone was wrapped up in there own thing. But as they began to take notice I looked around the place. White, Black, Asian. Teenagers, Young men and women, older adults. Looking around I saw that in this moment it didn't matter who you were or how old, because so many of us across this country are actually watching politics in a way that we haven't before. We want to know whats happening, and we want to be informed. And so on that note, if you didn't get the chance to watch it, you can PEEP it here.

Tonight. THE HAROLD HUNTER BASKETBALL GAME.

So tonight it goes down again, in the memory of Harold Hunter, this annual basketball game, is always a good time. All the downtown heads can be seen there, laughing and having a great time. And this year there, adding volley ball into the mix. Along with wings from Epstein's, so if your in the downtown area, check that out.

Here are some photos from last years game. IMG_9832.JPG

Tonight. The SAG Awards.

Besides the Oscar's, this is one of my most favorite award shows. I really love the fact that the actors and actresses support each other, and give each other awards. And more than that I think it's important to show love and praise to those you respect and admire.

The Show premieres tonight @ 8pm on TNT. Peep that.

A Night At The Museum.

Now the movie have may been a dud, but tonight party is what your in store for. Flavorpill & The Museum of Natural History, have teamed up to turn the fossil halls into performance. It features DJ A-Trak, The Cool Kids, and Kid Sister. The museum will feature work by the Bronx-based graffiti artist, Fuevoz. The party is from 9 until 1 am, which means it starts in about 2 and a half hours!

The tickets are $20, now don't be cheap! I know no one wants to pay, and if your cool you never pay or wait online, but if your a fan of these guys and girl, then cough it up and go have a good time! The ticket also includes admission to the museum's Alien Space Show, plus a free future visit, which is really a good look since none of us go to museums enough. too cool for that? I don't think so!

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

Everything surrounding Heath's death, still seems a bit of a mystery, though I think some of us have a definite opinion of what happened. We can all speculate, and say he was into drugs, which is always the most easy answer to come up with, and most times it's true. But with the new Batman movie coming out, and Heath's role as The Joker, it was been said that perhaps it was that, that began to take a toll on him. Now I don't think its right to blame one set of circumstances for something like this happening. The news being covered after this unfortunate event, has spoke a lot about his role in this movie, and Heath feeling that it was extremely difficult for him to get in and out of character. That the sheer evil that was The Joker, was hard for him to shake.  He spoke of feeling haunted by the character, and having it keep him up at night. With that in mind, I think it's important for all of us to realize how truly immersed in a role you have to become as an actor, and how there has to be a way to draw the line, to not be consumed by the everyday workings of creating the character. The one thing I can say, is that I cannot wait to see this film. Here's a small trailer.

An Appetite For Destruction But I Scraped The Plate.

It's true what they always used to say in school, about getting a good nights sleep, and having breakfast in the morning. You feel energized and ready for the day ahead. Especially with this week it's a must. So what we have here is what I like to call the international breakfast. A little Italiano, a little Americano, and a little Indian, haha.

Italian Ciabatta with fresh mozzarella, beef steak tomatoes, and basil. Broil with mad olive oil until melted and juicy. Curry and cayenne pepper turkey burger. Curry powder, cayenne pepper, red bell peppers, scallions, garlic. Saute until brown and cooked through. Fried egg.
Self explanatory.

Now off you go, conquer the day.

Thank you.

S.

Strange things around the house.

Sometime in my New Years clean up, I came across this jar. As you can see it reads, Tylenol with codeine. For Increased Profits. I think there is something wrong with this, and I don't know why its in my house.

Thank you.

S.

I can't be the only one.

Now its been said, that the Blackberry is a must for any business professional. The same can be said about Apple products, for the technologically savvy. Now the average person is bound to lose their phone at least once. In the event that this happens, Blackberry has, Blackberry Desktop, which is a program that allows you to back up all your information, onto this system.

I put the disc, into the new Mac. Nothing happens. No icon, just the disc. So I try to open it, and still nothing. Sometime later in the night, I call up T-Mobile. They then proceed to inform me that, the Blackberry Desktop program, is not Mac compatible.

Does this make any sense at all???

NO.

jerks.

Have You Arrived?

Arrive Miami, opened in 2005, since then the buss has been crazy to say the least. The 3000 sq. foot shop opened in the heart of South Beach on Collins Avenue. With the creative vision of former CD of Sean John, Dao-Yi Chow, Max Pierre of Miami’s famed Opium Group and former investment banker Dennis Jiu, a new bridge was built between the shopper and the traveler.

"With Arrive, we wanted to create a space that explored today’s global lifestyle of frequent travel, and what people do when they arrive in a new city,” says Chow. “But it’s not just about the destination, it’s about the process of exploration. It’s about the thoughts and excitement you feel when you experience a new culture. Because its not what we wear but why we choose to wear it. It’s about how we pack, where we stay, what we do when we ARRIVE." Chow’s vision is expressed in the way he curates the shop. Mixing an avant-garde designer sensibility with a street aesthetic, specifically edited to entice and enhance a modern tastemaker’s busy life, Arrive’s merchandise mix offers an eclectic array of apothecary, luggage, gadgets, books footwear and fashion from the most innovative labels – a first for the Miami scene.

The website has recently been updated, with news, and events as well as exclusives. If you know about this store, and love it, don't worry, you won't have to go all the way to Miami anymore, although that never hurts, but a New York store is right around the corner. Be on the look-out all you jet setters and travelers. Like Jay said, " I could touch down and take off the same night."

Capsule Trade Show.

More and more these days, we can see the fashion industry changing, from the designers to the corporate heads. New types of trades show, and new ways of doing business. Every trade show seems to be getting more creative in the way we think of the average trade show, and the fashion business as a whole, and Capsule is no different.

(capsule) is a new fashion event designed to bring the world's most directional independent menswear designers, super premium street wear and lifestyle brands together under one roof for the very first time. Presenting a highly-edited capsule of collections from around the world, (capsule) reflects the look of the new consumer and presents a fresh approach to the fashion trade show.

(capsule) delivers the perfect dose of progressive style and borrows inspiration from today's mash-up culture. From high to low, bold to subtle, impulsive to thoughtful; the beauty is in the mix. Every (capsule) participant offers a premium level of ideas, overall aesthetic, styling, fit, design and brand messaging. Only the world's most innovative and sought-after brands are invited to participate.

The brands at (capsule) epitomize a new Utopian vision of forward progress. Call it a changing of the guard, this movement is all about global awareness, a mix of cultural references and philosophical choices, and the realization of the American dream.

The really great thing about this show, besides the actual brands, is the prime location. On Jan. 22nd & 23rd, 2008 the show will take place on the Lower East Side, at the Angel Oresanz Foundation.

The neo-gothic structure originally built as a synagogue in 1849 by Berlin based architect Alexander Seltzer. Inspired by the German romantic movement of Heinrich Heine and Beethoven, the building has served as an anchor for the arts in New York City since 1992 when it was converted to an event and performance space. With its balconies, vaulted ceilings, stained glass work, earthy wood, majestic altar and inimitable old world style, the Angel Orensanz center offers a beautiful and incomparable setting for (capsule).

SCHOOLS OFFICALLY IN SESSION.

public-school.jpg

Public School, a new high end men’s brand that combines the NYC attitude, the excellence of European tailoring and the thoughtfulness of Japanese street wear, into one. Created by fashion industry vets Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, Public School is the new conspirator in the wave of young designers who unapologetically celebrate influences that span high and low fashion, art and culture. “We wanted to create something perfect in its imperfection” Chow explains. “Something that captured the attitude and rebellious spirit of New York. For us Public School represents the beginnings of that rebellion, it’s really the first place where we developed our attitude as a New Yorker.”

The entire collection tells a distinct story from piece to piece. With excellent detail and tailoring, it is definitely for a more knowledgeable customer. One who respects what it takes to make a great garment, that isn't always flashy, just extremely well made.

Price points range from $72 for a T-shirt to $680 for leather outerwear. Wovens, jeans, and French terry knits range from $125- $230.

OH YEA!

BLACKS GIRLS RULE!!!!!

JUST PEEPED THIS ON THE A.L.I.E.N. BLOG! ITS HELLA OLD BUT I HAD TO POST.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

A B-Girl must have is the critically acclaimed book, “The Games Black Girls Play”. Author Kyra Gaunt shows how the tradition of hand games impact popular black music. Gaunt addresses the roles of black girls from the playground to the music industry; tackling issues of invisibility and what that means for black culture itself. You can find reviews in Essense, Bitch Magazine, and AllHipHop.com. Go get it ladies! It’s a good read and it damn sure beats “Confessions of a Video Vixen”. Check out Kyra at kyraocity.com. Also keep a look out for her on an upcoming project from your’s truly.
